    Excitement filled the air as the toughest dance crews in the Philippines faced off last October 10 and 11 at SM North Edsa’s SkyDOme in back-to-back elimination legs of the Skechers Streetdance Battle Year 5, for a chance to grab a much-coveted slot in the country’s biggest, toughest, and hottest streetdance competition.

    In one of the most high-powered elimination rounds ever seen in Skechers Streetdance Battle history, the defending college champs De La Salle University’s La Salle Dance Company Street faced off with 17 other crews, including, the previous three-peat title holders — UP Diliman’s UP Street Dance Club. From jaw dropping jumps, breaking, locking and popping routines, crew after crew fave electrifying performances that got the jampacked SkyDome crowd into full-throttle frenzy.

    The high school showdown also saw booming performances from over 20 competing crews that included the defending High School champions — Miriam College’s Sayawatha Dance Troupe, all vying for a chance to compete on the grand stage at the Big Dome on November 21.

    In the end, only the best of the best were chosen to battle it out next month at the Araneta Coliseum for ultimate dance supremacy. The first five college finalists include Ateneo de Manila University’s Company of Ateneo Dancers, De La Salle University’s La Salle Dance Company Street, Lyceum of the Philippines’ Lyceum Spartans Dance Troupe, UP Diliman’s UP Street Dance Club, and UP Los Ba ños’ Wyre Underground of UP.

    This year’s ten high school finalists include Ateneo de Manila High School Indak, Civil Aeronautics Administration Annex JHEMPZZ, Claret School Hataw, Colegio San Agustin CSA Dance Troupe, Holy Spirit Academy HRA Dance Troupe, La Salle Greenhills Airforce, Miriam College High School Sayawatha Dance Troupe, Neptali Gonzales High School BM Crew, St. Mark’s Institute Campus Image, and St. Paul Pasig Terpsichore.

    A Limited Edition line of Skechers Streetdance Battle 5 graphic tees were also put on display at the elimination legs. These shirts can be purchased for a limited period, and Skechers customers can also get one of these collector’s shirts for free with a Skechers shoe or Skechers Time purchase combined with a promo coupon (distributed in all Skechers Streetdance events, and can also be found in the Download section of this site).

    Witness the country’s top dance crews tough it out for the remaining slots in the Final Battle on the last two elimination legs on October 17 and 18, 4 pm, at the SM North Edsa SkyDome. Find out who among them will reign supreme at the Skechers Streetdance Battle 5 finals on November 21 at the Araneta Coliseum.

      For the high school division, you missed out on School of the Holy Spirit – Aglaia dance group. They are one of the top 10 finalists this year. They were last year’s 1st runner up.
