It seems that it will be a very tight race for the championship this year.Unlike previous years when UPD won hands down, this year, CADS came in too close for comfort;some in the crowd even thought that CADS should have won. This is definitely a first since UPD has always ruled the stage with the others a far second.Another first is that UPD posted their video. So, it looks like they will be doing a lot of adjustments for the final battle to ensure the crown.

The Skechers team will really have to be transparent re judging. Barring mishaps, it looks like a very close call in the College division with the competing teams of UPD,CADS,DLSU,TIP and FEU.Of course after seeing all the performances, the other teams will also be beefing up their routines.

To ensure fairness in judging, how about:
a.Adding an international judge like the UAAP Cheerdance competion; or
b.Having 5 judges with the top and bottom scores being cancelled. This way, the judges will think twice about their scoring because they do not want to be the cancelled scores; or
c.having 4 judges with all the scores added up to get the average. The score that is farthest from the average is cancelled.

As I said, barring mishaps,it looks like a close call and Skechers really have to address the judging issues now because every year the teams will just keep getting better and better.

i 100% agree with ^susie regarding the judging process. :)

we think that Susie has a brilliant suggestion and what she mentioned are all far better than the way Skechers has judged the previous years. Surely a lot of fans from different schools are gonna be watching the finals and skechers should be more precise in explaining the criteria. there has been a lot of issues going on already. it’s time to make changes for the better. thanks Susie!

i agree with Susie. The judges should have been more educated and more objective in judgin. I know you can all agree with me but the real essence of streetdance is missing already. DINADAAN NA LANG SA BLOWUPS but the TECHNICALITIES? wala na. This is because the judges really have a very LIMITED knowledge on the what’s and how’s of real HIPHOP DANCE. Like FEU, it is said in the rules that *ANY JAZZ OR THEATRICAL ROUTINES WILL BE DISREGARDED IN JUDGING*. But what happened, wawtch the vid and be the judge. Like WORLD HIPHOP, not so famous judges are in the panel but they are really the famous ones from the underground that really knows the basics to the latests of HIPHOP. There are so many teams like BEDAN DANCE TROUPE and UPM INDAYOG that deserve the spot more than the ones who did. For e.g. do the judges know that Beda’s piece is one of the most latest and technical style when it comes to laidback/la style? or do they really know that UP Manila’s style, taking it from the roots of Hiphop is the one called as NY Style used by most underground performers in the Battle Cities like Ny, LA, NJ and Houston. It is also the style taught by Luther Brown ( a World Hipho Judge ). I think the judges should be re shuffled. I remember this one time when Meynard of Streetboys was asked to do Lockings. haha What he did? He just LITERALLY Locked is shoulders and arms in short PUMITIK PITIK LANG but in fact Locking (campbell locking) is really a different move which originated from UPM INDAYOG, DLSU and the BBOY CREWS before. KAWAWA YUNG MGA TECHNICAL DANCERS, NILALAMON YUNG COMPETITION NG COMMERCIAL Hiphop and FAMOUS DANCE ICONS WHO REALLY HAS NO IDEA OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

whew,, how pathetic you are to say those things to certain schools.. why dont you just open your mind to something new?? street dance in this world of ours also improves.. there are a lot of new things that can be added.. palibhasa your mind is closed to new ideas.. its like you saying that you are a dancer now, and you will always be at that level for the rest of your life.. dont you see yourself doing something new?? and progress at a higher level? awang awa naman ako sau.. ang lakas ng apog mong magsabe ng maraming bites, walang originality.. hey, d nga kaya ikaw naman ang walang utak? maybe, you know a lot of hiphop moves from certain known groups.. but hey, nd b yang cnsbe mo ang dapat tawaging walang originality? because you yourself stick to that idea! ikaw nga ang walang creativity.. ikaw pa la tong puro may basis eh.. e di ikaw ang gumagaya? kaya ms beanie.. before you say something bad to these schools which entered the finals, look at yourself.. have an open mind! you say so many things, yet they are all claptraps! i suppose you are one among the members from the bitter schools who haven’t entered the finals.. why not just accept defeat? and do better next time?? dont be so wretched as you are now! just an advice.. i dont care if you will follow or not.. just that!

_and anyways,, redundancy check lang poh,, there is no such thing as most latest.. latest will do po.. aun lang! peace ms beanie! and good luck to all the final crews who entered the finals! ahahahahaha =))

hahaha I respect your opinion and people be the judge. I aint basing my opinion on what is USO. I base it on the rules, its a competiotion there are rules. thats why we really have to follow and we have to get knowledgeable judges. REGARDING THIS COMMENT MR BEANIE:

haha nkakatuwa ka. Dont you know na ang laman ng posts ko e is because the basis of judging is old school already and we have new rules because of course, as you have said, streetdance changes through time. SO SINO WLANG UTAK? haha haay mga tao. And excuse me dont tag me as bitter dahil kung may bitter dito.. ikaw yun because napapatungan ng EMOTIONS MO and utak mo kaya MALI MALI MGA REACTIONS MO :) tsk tsk

We really need to do something about this, I am not a dancer and I am not part of the BIG SCHOOLS that usually compete but I am a scholar of London School for the Arts before major in Hiphop and contemporary street style and I know how messed up and how disrespected hiphop style is here in the Philippines.Sorry if im putting you as an example FEU but really, wala kayo karapatan. You just tried to get the audience’s attention by doing a contemporary piece. Before, you used to bite costumes from UPD, waacking from UPM, Jun Quemado’s choreo Locking from Lasalle and now, you are not doing the real thing? When can you improve your discipline and your originality? Ang lalakas niyo pa naman. Sayang.TIP is also great but sayang andami niyo binite. I have nothing to say more, sayang lang yung mga bite and I know you can still come up with the same routine or better just eliminate the copied routines and focus more on technicalities not on tumblings.I really hope makarating to sa brainbox and they should come up with a better way of lining-up judges that are really deserving to be called judges for a STREETDANCE BATTLE. Peace yall

AMA dance troupe is much better than the other finalist in terms of choreography and skills, mas ok dance nila ala jun quemado and kaba modern… even though for you guys underdog sila, they are capable of winning the championship kasi d pa nmn nila naiipakita ung tunay nilang energy…

Everyone will be coming into the competition with the hopes of winning. This year’s battle will be like no other. All the schools have raised their level and so I expect the competition to be fierce, intense etc.Break a leg everyone.

Choreo-based/Control piece is definitely not a street dance…Just wonderin’ why ADT got into the finals with a Calistyle piece in a STREET DANCE BATTLE…but they are so good though.
