Sending a prayer to all those in need.

September 27, 2009 Leave a comment

Dancing is also another form of prayer. This one’s for everyone who is suffering right now. I was looking for a really nice routine and ended up on one of Philip Geniza’s Video. Sending prayers to all those who are in need. Our heavenly father is testing us with this bad weather. We all know he has a bigger plan for us all.

All Geared Up for the Groove Philippines: World Supremacy Battlegrounds 2009

All Geared Up for the Groove Philippines: World Supremacy Battlegrounds 2009

Written by Nash Anggahan
Friday, 18 September 2009 01:47

No one can slow down the progressive pump of heartbeats as Groove Philippines – World Supremacy Battlegrounds’ dates are getting near. Eliminations on Mindanao will be at Pagadian City on September 26; Visayas at Cebu City on October 3; Luzon-NCR at Metro Manila on October 16 and the grand finals on October 23, 2009 at Crossroads 77, Mother Ignacia Quezon City.

Groove is an Australian-based dance competition establised in 2002 that provides an outlet for young people to express their energy on the dance floor. An ultimate ultimate event for the savvy and younger audience – funkier, edgier and in-your face, bringing together the exciting world of dance with the street-smart urban culture. It was year 2006 when Groove’s popularity has spread across the Tasman, to New Zealand, in Japan and the Philippines. It was then named as World Supremacy Battlegrounds International Championships.

An estimated of 50 crews from NCR – Luzon are already preparing for their competition pieces, but only 15 of them will proceed to the finals to get the bragging rights. “Sasali kami dito para mapatunayan naming na we are versatile (We will join this competition to prove that we are versatile),” Paul of Funkadelics, an aspiring competitor from Laguna, said, despite jazz being their main genre of dance.

Lester Gibuana, the participant coordinator, says,”This year’s competition is well organized and has well prominent judges from the Philippine dance scene.” humbly declares that they took representatives from Billy Crawford’s Movers, G-Force Dance Management, x10 Dancers, Streetboys and Ms. Regine Tolentino to be in the judging seats.

Groove, on its 3rd year in the Philippines marked Xtatic Crew from Cagayan de Oro as its first champion while Exquisyth Dance Group from General Santos City as its second. The crews represented Philippines on the World Supremacy Battlegrounds International Championships on Australia and carried back bacons by captivating top awards. Now on its third instance, who do you think will get crown of the anticipated regional hip hop dance competition? Do you think those crowned delegate will also top the International Championships?

This international event is brought to you by Hoopdreams Enterprises PTY in cooperation with GrooveTV. Practice your moves and keep those dancing shoes on as we update you here at Dance Pinoy!
