Dancing is and has always been a great form of exercise, but can dancing be used in strength training? This video would absolutely say yes to that question, easily. We all know that break dancing take balance and coordination, but did you know it take the strength of a gymnast? This famous New York B-Boy dancing style has taken on a whole new face incorporating the acrobatics of a circus act and the power of a mater of the rings. It is almost impossible to describe this other than floor acrobatics, so I will let the video speak for itself. This is a routine best left for the professionals. Enjoy.

This coming August 1st , the hottest new automotive-lifestyle event to hit the Greenhills shopping complex, is also proud to present the URBAN DANCE CHALLENGE, also to be held on the same day in the very same venue.

As hot rides and the present urban lifestyle collide in this never-before seen event, it is but fitting to involve the urban lifestyle crowd into the mix and witness live performances with exciting music by different competing groups. This event aims to bring the art of hip hop streetdancing to the next level by staging the newest and most innovative dance event in Metro Manila — the URBAN DANCE CHALLENGE, at the AUTOMASH 2009 in Greenhills.

This event intends to showcase of the best and most exciting moves, choreography, creativity, team work and coordination displayed by the hottest college dance groups in Metro Manila and battle for top honors.

Participants will perform in a five (5) minute routine, consisting of a variety of HipHop styles (popping, locking, break dancing, street, funk, club, etc.) as well as other combinations involving other dance elements.

A group consists of a minimum of 8 to 10 members. The members of the group may be made up of all males or females or a combination of males and females.

For the competition, only dance groups from the collegiate level – i.e.  all bonafide regular, undergraduate level college students ( first course and have not yet earned a college degree) from their respective universities are eligible to compete.

Requirements

1. A degree in an appropriate field of study from a recognised university.
2. Experience in performing, teaching, training and choreography on various dance styles is preferred.
3. Candidates who have combination of qualifications and experiences for the above mentioned subjects and possess the ability to teach other subjects will have advantages.
4. Starting salary for the above mentioned position will be in the range of P45,000 – P76,000 pesos per month depending on the qualifications and experiences.  (There is no income tax in Brunei Darussalam).
