Question and Answer: Important, please read.
Q1: What’s going to happen in the Open Training/Rehearsal Sessions?
A1: You will learn and experience Popping and Locking trainings with Funk’in Styles crew. The way we do it.
Q2: What if we’re new to dancing or Funkstyle (popping and locking)?
A2: It’s okay! we will teach you guys the basic fundamental moves.
Q3: Anything else that I need to prepare or bring?
A3: – Wear comfortable clothes or whatever you dance to.
- Bring your body, mind and soul cause there will also be conditioning drills.
Such as carrying Prince on your back like the way Luke Skywalker carried Master Yoda. =P
- Smile :)
Q4: I know this might be a silly question, but what is Popping and Locking?
A4: It’s not a silly question, I’m glad you asked.
Popping and Locking is a dance art form during the Funk Era, which is the 70′s.

Locking
-Is the very funky stop-and-start dance.
Takin’ you back to the 70′s where everything is about the funk.
A dance art form with improvisational steps.
Locking is about quick locks, points, hand claps, splits knee-drops,
and all those
bouncy footworks.
If you’re not familiar of what real Locking is,  here’re some clips:

Popping
-Is another funky dance style after Locking.
Popping is the dance technique of quickly contracting and relaxing or ‘hitting’ of muscles to the beat of the music to create a jerky/snapping effect.
It involves boolgaloo, waves, tutting and animation.
If you don’t know what real Popping is, here’re some clips:

All of which are the very foundation
of the different Hiphop dance styles that you see now.
